Virtual visits for people in North Carolina who need thoughtful medical care without another drive, waiting room, or afternoon away from their daily life.
Whether you’re ready to talk seriously about your weight or you need help with an everyday health concern, First Place Health gives you a place to start.
I know how hard it can be to make room for a medical appointment. Sometimes the drive is the problem. Sometimes it’s work, children, or simply finding an opening at a time you can actually use.
I’m Dr. Amy White Jones, a family medicine physician. I was raised right here in North Carolina, in the foothills of the Appalachian Mountains.
I’m building First Place Health to make it easier to get a real conversation with a real doctor about concerns that can be addressed safely by video.
You should be able to ask questions, understand your options, and leave knowing what comes next.
Weight is more complicated than a number on a scale. We can talk through your history, your goals, what you’ve tried, and what may be making change difficult. If testing, medication, or a different type of care makes sense, we’ll discuss the options and their limitations together.
A virtual visit may be a good starting point for certain short-term concerns, follow-up questions, and other problems that do not require a hands-on exam. We’ll decide together whether telehealth is appropriate for your situation.
For infants and children, virtual visits may be appropriate for some coughs, fevers, rashes, and other straightforward concerns. Children sometimes need an in-person exam sooner than adults do. If that’s the case, I’ll be direct about it.
When appointments open, select the visit that best fits your concern and choose an available time.
Complete your intake information in our secure patient system. Have your medications and, when relevant, a few home measurements ready.
We’ll talk through what’s going on, what we can reasonably assess by video, and what the next step should be.
All new patient visits, for any concern. No extra fees. That's it.
If you're being seen again, and we 've seen you before, even for a different problem. We appreciate the honor to serve you again.
If you need an appointment for a visit that needs follow up, you won't have to pay the new patient price. You'll get our VIP discount.
We do not submit claims to insurance. Patients pay the listed visit fee directly prior to the visit on our secure online payment system. Tests, medications, imaging, and care provided by other facilities are not included in the visit fee and may have separate costs.
Good telehealth care depends on good information. Depending on the reason for your visit, please have access to:
You do not need every device for every visit. Your booking instructions will tell you what is most useful for your appointment. If you cannot obtain a measurement, tell us; please do not guess.
Virtual care has limits. We cannot safely evaluate every symptom through a screen, and booking a visit does not guarantee a diagnosis, a prescription, or that an in-person visit will not be needed.
First Place Health is not an emergency service. For chest pain, severe trouble breathing, signs of stroke, severe dehydration, a rapidly worsening child, or another emergency, call 911 or seek emergency care. A fever in a baby younger than 3 months needs prompt medical evaluation rather than a routine telehealth appointment.
First Place Health will open appointments for eligible patients physically located in North Carolina at the time of their visit. Click below to schedule your visit
